The very first Fan World Cup held in Mzansi was won by New Zealand fans who defeated Germany 2-0 yesterday at the Halfway House Primary school in Midrand.

The Fan World Cup included all the 32 teams taking part in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as well as the exact fixtures.

The Bafana Bafana fans managed to make it to the last 16 of the competition after defeating Mexico, ironically loosing to Uruguay and drawing with France – they were later eliminated when they lost to Paraguay in a penalty shootout.

CEO of the Fan World Cup and Dr Nikolas Ebrel says SAFA President Kirsten Nematandani attended the event while the Football Associations of the World are wiling to continue with the event at other FIFA tournaments.
