DIFFERENT TYPES OF LAUGHS

In case you haven’t noticed, the world is full of different types of laughs.

This definitely makes the humorous side of life more exciting and vibrant because laughter is a uniquely comical thing in itself. It’s interesting and hilarious to listen to people laugh, and entire jokes have taken a turn for ridiculously funny because of laughter.

I love laughing; it’s one of my favourite things to do, especially when I’m having a bad day, and because of this, I have been observing people laugh for some time and noticed that there different types of laughs that exist in this wonderfully hilarious world of ours. Here they are:

The dying seal laugh

Some people’s laugh sounds like a dying seal. If I were to liken it to a character, I’d say it sounds like Barney the Friendly Dinosaur choking and laughing at the same time. This laugh can get a bit irritating because it doesn’t sound so pleasant on the ear, and usually, people who laugh like this are quite loud. None the less, it exists and it’s funny.

The Dr. Evil laugh

This is one of the funniest laughs on the laugh market because it’s infectious. People who laugh like this sound like Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies, and as soon as they start belting out, everybody explodes into laughter because of the way they laugh. It’s a good thing that people who laugh like this don’t put their pinkie finger by their mouth because that would be a cliché that would kill and mutilate the joke.

The hooligan laugh

People who sport the hooligan laugh are those who break out into bouts of laughter while rolling on the floor or any surface they can find and they shake and gyrate everywhere. These types of laughs attract a lot of attention to the joke at hand and it ends up being funnier than it actually is because of the extravagant performance of the person laughing. People who sport the hooligan laugh are usually extreme extroverts. This laugh isn’t for everybody though; you have to be crazy in personality to pull it off.

The silent laugh

This laugh is awkward and funny because people who laugh silently usually tear up and turn red in the face to show the world that they are in a moment of great hysteria. This is the silent but violent laugh. What’s even more awesome about this laugh is that once everyone has recovered from laughing at the joke in question and they see the silent laugher still canning themselves with tears streaming from their eyes, they burst out in laughter again as they laugh at the silent laugher, which then ripples into laughing at the joke again.

The ‘lol’ laugh

Some new age people who have been heavily influenced by social media don’t even laugh anymore. When something funny happens, they merely say ‘lol’ or ‘lmao’ with a smile on their face and a little giggle (if it’s a good day). I find this fascinating, not only because the person is laughing in words, but because this proves that laughter has gone through the process of evolution. I bet Darwin didn’t see this coming *Lol*. But if you’re a ‘lol’ or ‘lmao’ laugher, be aware that people might think that you’re uptight, nastily sarcastic and are devoid of any funny bones in your body.

Laughing is the best thing on earth because it’s good for the soul and for social cohesion and happiness, so make sure that you do it every day.

And make sure that you keep to your unique type of laughter because it makes all the difference in the world of hilarity.

Hey man, nice article. The hooligan laugh is pretty accurate! But there's a couple more you could have mentioned. Check them out. http://bit.ly/GCFhxg
