Style Inspiration: Solange Knowles
August 3, 2011 Athi 2 comments

Solange Knowles is one of those celebrities who decided very early on that she wasn’t going to fit into any mould. From cutting off her hair in ‘O9 amidst criticism, to putting her singing career on hold to focus on Dj-ing, this young lady lives according to her own rules.

She also loves to break rules when it comes to the fashion stakes, and her risk-taking doesn’t always turn out the best results, but we love how hot she looks when she gets it right!

We love how she puts together simple pieces that have maximum impact, and that ‘fro is to die for! Summer is coming up, take note on how to successfully wear a summer pant suit; go bold on the colour and pair it with tan accessories.

Solange loves her African inspired-pieces, and has inspired me to wear my doek with pride! (And not just to bed!)

She shows us that just because you’re in mommy mode, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look hot doing it! She rocks the relaxed colour-blocking look on the left, and on the right sticks to a trusted (and winning) formula, pairing black with a gold accessories. An animal print clutch ties the look together for that finishing touch.

Don’t we all wish our kids turn out that cute? Solange rocks!

Solange is definitely a yummy mummy. She's still keeping it real with her authentic style while taking care of a really cute kid and looking absolutely phly at that (now wouldn't guys just die for a woman like this; take care of your kids and still look dashing!) I guess the rest of us ladies need to take a hint from her!
