FAQ's
Q: Why the choice of venue?A: The Park Hyatt is frequented by future leaders, is located close to Yfm's headquarters in Hyde Park, and is right next to the Rosebank Gautrain station allowing easy access for people working in Tshwane and in the Jo'burg CBD.
Q: Isn't R300 too expensive?A: Yfm listeners think nothing of spending R300 on drinks at Yfm parties, so the amount is not high. For those who cannot afford to be there, there will be opportunities to win free admission on air. Stay tuned for details.
Q: Why 20 minutes? Why not longer?A: The 20 minute format is respectfully stolen from Ted Talks - see ted.com for more information. Venture Capitalist Guy Kawasaki makes a strong case for a 20 minute limit in what he calls "The 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint" http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2005/12/the_102030_rule.html
Q: What do you mean by "a non-profit forum"? Isn't someone making money from this?A: Yfm subsidises free entry for deserving future leaders as well as invited guests. The R300 entry fee pays for dinner. All presentations will be distributed free of charge on the website licenced under Creative Commons allowing for free redistribution.
Q: Is this a forum for politicians?A: It is a forum for ideas, and sometimes those ideas may originate from politicians. It is not a forum for political parties, but members of political parties are welcome.
Q: I want to buy a table for my company/friends/family to sit together?A: Prebook your seats on the website, then email the list of those you would like to sit together to us. Bear in mind though that we would like you to use the opportunity to network with those you might not know, so sitting with strangers might be more rewarding.
