Motshidisi Mohono is a student at the University of Johannesburg, with a love and passion for radio. She is currently on an internship with Yona ke Yona.
Mpho Kubayi is a Monash University Graduate. She describes herself as a go getter of note! She has a passion for news, a flair for fashion and a nose for following up on entertainment stories.
Mpho K produces and presents the Y Scoop which zooms into the good, the bad, the ugly, the ever so gorgeous and the down right nasty stuff on celebrities.
Thato “Choo Choo” Moeng is currently a final year journo student at the Tshwane University of Technology. She took part in the Y Academy and was selected from 13 candidates to be the medulla oblongata of the news room. This seed has been planted in the news room to blossom into a sports presenter and delivers informative vibey weekend news.
William Lehong is undoubtedly a multi-talented young man. His surname (Lehong), often met by surprise and curiosity, is of Chinese descent but he often laughs when asked whether he is Chinese or not. He’s an extremely creative and energetic person with an immense passion for radio, music, advertising, television and just about anything that requires creativity.
Zamanyuswa Nyuswa is a cool, down to earth girl. She holds a Btech degree in Journalism from the Tswane University of Technology.
Between reading politics, chasing fashion, listening to all music except gospel and watching ruby, Nyuswa is at home with a glass of Southern Comfort.
She works hard and parties even harder.
Samantha Wright is a crazy soul with a BA Journalism degree from the University of Johannesburg and currently working towards an Honours degree in Communication Science.
Between working and studying Sam has a passion for horses, tequila and Manchester United – with her one true love being radio.
Zukile Majova is a journalism graduate of the Durban Institute of Technology. He is still in culture shock and adjusting to the challenge of working in an environment filled with black people (his previous employer was the Mail and Guardian).
Now, as News Editor, he is responsible for news, sport, and current affairs at Yfm and Y World.
Zukile sees himself as an aspirant writer from uMvuzi village. He thinks South Africa is a better country than it was pre-1994 and that president Thabo Mbeki is right when he says, "today is better than yesterday".
He also correctly predicted Jacob Zuma's victory in Polokwane many months ahead of the conference when most journalists were predicting his downfall.
More to the point, he is optimistic about the future under the new ANC leadership. |
